Mark Sanchez was on IR with an injured shoulder the entire 2013 season. With the emergence of Geno Smith and the fact Mark Sanchez is owed a $2,000,000 bonus in March, it could very well mean the end to his time with the Jets. It is likely Mark Sanchez will get released, if so, it means there are now two proven veteran QB's available, Michael Vick being the other. Sanchez' stats: Career Yards12,092, 68 TD, 69 INT, 43 Fum.. Career passer rating 71.7 after 4 seasons. If healthy Mark Sanchez will become a sought after player.
Many of us don't see the QB of the futured assured in the upcoming draft at the Raiders number 5 pick. With that said, the veteran option as a stopgap until our future QB is ready is a path that should be seriously considered. With the amount of money we have we can do some real damage in the draft and free agency. I also want to say RM stated "He wanted any rookie OB to sit for a year" Of course, camp would tell, however, this seems to be his mindset.
With two savvy vets added to the mix I believe the Raiders should seriously consider the Vet QB option. Your thoughts Nation?
