Our free agency situation is crazy right now, we have the most players due to hit the market! We have a pocket full of money and Reggie Mckenzie is happier than Pacman Jones In a Vegas strip club. The main obje tive is to re-sign Jared Veldheer, but what happens if his sticker price is to high for our taste? Do we franchise tag him and set the bar really high where we end up letting him walk away after another year? Do we draft another LT in search of the next JRed Veldheer? Or.....do we max one out in free agency? What happens if the players we targeted sign elsewhere? Do we go on a trading down frenzy to acquire as many picks as possible throughout the rest of the draft to fill as many wholes as possible? We already know how he attacks free agency, he doesn't sign a player for at least 72 hours. It's going to very interesting to see who his primary targets are and who his back up options will be. If he lands Alex Mack in free agency I feel that everything else will fall into place! I have the gut feeling majority of the free agency money will be used to sign defense and the draft will be the instrument that fixes the offense. With only minimal problems to fix on offense it makes you wonder how much will really be spent in free agency. At any rate I think this year will be really surprising to us fans.
