But honestly I just want to see someone drafted who makes an immediate impact. Clowney? Sure we need pass rushers. Watkins or Evans? Sure we need a true #1 to force double teams. Mathews or Robinson? Sure we need help and depth on the OL. Barr or Mack? Sure it would allow us to move to full time 3 -4 and rush the pass from both OLB spots. Any remaining QB? Sure we need more competition and to solidify our QB of the future.
Again I don't care who it is just as long as they are one of those guys EVERYONE is talking about mid season in terms of making an immediate impact. I know that's a lot of pressure for a rookie but Big Ben, Green & J. Jones, AD and a slew of others came in and did just that for their teams in their 1st season.
They way I see it, and since the gauntlet has been thrown, we need to come out of this draft with at least 2 of those type of players. We do that (or more) and we add 2 more impact players via FA and our team is instantly better. Think about it.
If we end up with Clowney, that opens things up for Houston and our LBers. If we end up with Watkins or Evans, that opens things up for Streater, D. Moore, Holmes, Rivera and our RB's in the passing game. We end up with Mathews or Robinson, and that drastically improves our pass protection and run game. We end up with Barr or Mack and we no longer need as many DL and things open up for S. Moore. We add the right QB and the entire offense opens up.
The key is getting that type of player. This is one RM cannot whiff on and I'm hoping one of the better players slips making his decision that much easier.
We need impact players and we need them now. Here's hoping that 2014 is the draft all the pundits say we rocked.
