After days of reports that Jim Harbaugh had agreed to become the next head coach at the University of Michigan, CSN Bay Area's Dave Feldman -- a longtime friend of Harbaugh -- confirmed those reports Saturday night, the eve of the 49ers season finale.
Confirmed: Harbaugh to Michigan! Press Conference Tues in Ann Arbor

This comes on the heels of reports that University of Michigan officials had traveled out to the Bay Area to meet with Harbaugh Sunday evening in the hopes of closing the deal. And it appears they did just that before Raiders officials were even allowed to speak with Harbaugh per NFL tampering rules.
Harbaugh was the Raiders' top choice for their next head coach which means they now must shift their focus elsewhere. There are expected to be several other good candidates and with Harbaugh's decision no longer looming, the Raiders won't need to put a rush on interviews.
