The Michael Sam Draft!

I didn't go into this mock draft with any intention of picking Sam, he was there in R4 and I thought it would make an interesting title for this newest First draft. :) I also based this draft on the assumption that in free agency we resign Houston and Veldheer, and add another couple of offensive linemen, mostly signing for depth rather than paying big money deals. I feel RM will renegotiate a lot of players deals to front load them to get to the cap floor, rather than overpay some big name free agents.

The first 4 picks of this draft were kind of crazy, yet believable enough that I kept playing through.

The Texans #1 pick was traded to the Falcons for their R1#6, R2#6 and their 2015 1st Rounder, the Falcons selected Jadaveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina.

The Rams '#2 pick was traded to the Jaguars for their R1#3, R2#3 and their R3 pick, the Jaguars selected Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville.

The Rams then traded their #3 acquired from the Jags for the Browns R1#4 and their R1#26. The Browns selected Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida.

The Rams then selected Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn at #4, which left me with a choice of Manziel, Watkins, Matthews, Barr or Mack. I had no options to trade down.

Round 1 Pick 5: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

Certified playmaker - Mayock believes he will be a instant hit in the NFL.

Round 2 Pick 7 (JAX): Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State

All the DT's were still on the board at the #4 pick, so I traded down with the Rams so they could select Ed Reynolds, FS, Stanford. They gave me the R2#7 and the R3#11. Timmy Jernigan in my opinion, is the best 4-3 DT in the draft, so this was a no brainer.

Round 3 Pick 11 (STL): Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State

While I realise I already selected Watkins earlier, this dude is a flat out dominant player, and adding him will instantly give us two legit playmakers, in addition to our already decent haul of Streater, Holmes and Moore.

Round 3 Pick 13 (S.F.): Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska

Can't remember how I got these two picks from San Fran, I think they traded up with me to get Garoppolo. Which does not make much sense. Anyway, probably took this guy too high, but everytime I see his film I just see Legion of Boom all over him.

Round 3 Pick 30 (S.F.): Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU

Probably a second round talent drops to near 4th round due to his injury last year. Pocket passer, should provide decent competition for McGloin.

Round 4 Pick 7: Michael Sam, DE, Missouri

Michael Sam is coming to Oakland! Gives us a nickel package rusher, something Tarver will love as it stops him having to send the house to generate pressure.

Round 6 Pick 5: Ed Stinson, DE, Alabama

Films shows a decent run stopper, thought I'd take him here to upgrade the D-Line.

Round 7 Pick 4: Aaron Lynch, DE, South Florida

Potential 3rd round talent, off field issues drop him to here.

Round 7 Pick 20: De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon

Gives us a weapon in the return game.

I was a bit pissed I didn't manage to pick up another CB/OT instead of a third DE but there were none on the board at the places I was drafting in positions where I felt they were a better fit than the players I chose.

I appreciate your guys feedback! Peace & love hombres
