An article on espn.com rips us for signing all these "old" players and even lists them with their age. (Of course they show what age their going to be and not what they are currently just to make it look worse.) In the article it lists 12 players we have either resigned or signed thru free agency. If you add up all their ages and divide by the number of players, you will see it averages out to 30 years old. Now other than RBs, when did 30 become old? I bet the average age of most the winning franchises, other than Seattle, is close if not the same. The article also failed to mention some of the lesser known players we resigned (Taiwan jones etc) which would lower the average age as well. Then you factor in anywhere from 5-7 draft picks plus udfas which will drastically lower the team average and I'd bet we're right on par with the nfl. I just wish any of these so called "writers" could do an article without twisting up words and numbers to make things look worse than they are. To the average fan (which no raider fan is ;) this is how they get their info and then they go to school or work and tell all their friends how stupid the raiders and how old we are. Acting the whole time as if what their saying is fact just because they read it on nfl.com or espn. All I can say is, thank god for levi and this site and all of you who contribute real info and opinions.
