James Jones gives the Raiders something they've been sorely lacking the last few years; a pair of sure hands. James' mitts is what gave him 14 TDs in 2013. While he doesn't quite have eye popping stats every single year, him being a reliable target immediately boosts the Oakland passing game to another dimension.
Pro Football focus just released their signature stat: drop rate, which measures every single receiver in the NFL and the number of catchable balls they dropped. James Jones comes in at #7 in the same category of reliable hands as Larry Fitzgerald, Marques Colston, Golden Tate, Alshon Jeffery, and Desean Jackson.
Its debatable that Jones gives the Silver and Black 1200yds and 12 TDs next season, but he will undoubtedly move the chains and be a security blanket for Schaub, McGloin, or whoever lines up at QB next season.
