Unions obliterated. Churches shredded. Communities torn asunder. This is the world we live in. It is difficult, if not impossible, for a blue-collar man or woman to earn a living. But this is why I am so blessed and thankful for the Raiders Nation to fall back upon. It's a strange thing, this bond of ours. It stretches across generations, across genders, across races. This little pirate project that Al Davis took up in the firestorm of the 60's has somehow both mellowed and erupted. I stand beyond blessed to be a part of SOMETHING - and we should not, for a second, undervalue the importance of belonging in today's impersonal world - to be a part of the Nation. i am not entirely sure where I am going with this, but I know it ends at just win baby, just win.
We citizens of the Nation travel on, through the torrents of a money-grubbing media to a handful of outmoded picks from Al - Jamarcus, I'm looking at you. And yet we persevere. We pick up the flag, its rebellious skull and cross-bones glistening in the sun, and we carry it on. Raider Nation, I am thankful for you. You pick me up each day, through thick and thin, and we shall be great again. This is a rallying cry. Just win, baby. Just win.
