QB at #5 might be our only option.

This morning I read a couple of interesting articles on NFL.com (source links at the bottom of the page). The first article discusses the Texans having a great interest in signing Matt Cassel as their QB. If that were to happen I could reasonably say that the Texans would go Defense with their first pick in the draft. So you can check off either Clowney or Mack with the first pick. This might also infer that the Texans, who have a need at QB, don't see a day one ready QB coming out of this draft.

The second article is in regards to the Browns and their formal interviews during the combine. The Browns didn't schedule a formal interview with any of the QB's at the combine. This one to me raises the biggest red flag. Everyone assumed that the Browns would be drafting a QB, but now that might not be the case. These two articles together might raise concerns about the QBs in this draft and how ready they really are to start when the season begins.

It could be that the QBs are good, but other talent in the draft is just a little better making it harder to pass up on. I really do hope that is the case because when I run down the draft in my head I see no other choice but to take a QB or find a possible trade partner. Although with these new reports starting to come out I don't see a trade partner willing to trade up for a QB.

Here is what I believe the top 5 picks could look like now.

Texans------ Clowney or Mack

Rams-------- OT or trade to someone who wants the Clowney/ Mack leftover.

Jaguars----- QB

Browns------ whoever is left between Clowney, Mack or Watkins

Raiders----- With Clowney, Mack and Watkins gone the Raiders go QB.
