Greetings fellow members of the glorious Raider Nation!
Just wanted to drop a quick line to say hello, I've been an faithful follower of Silver and Black Pride for a couple of years now, and a Raiders fan for as long as I remember. I grew up in hostile territory, Seattle when the Seahawks were still in the division, and NC. While the Panthers aren't a rival, like they say, if you aren't with us, you're against us.
Some quick thoughts on our off season.
I like what Reggie is doing with the team, not a single player has been signed to a ridiculous contract, or are they washed up. Older? Yes, but they all have a few years left in the tank. This roster has been devoid of talent for the past two years, I'm honestly surprised they won 4 games. I especially like the Tuck signing, As a man who's family is from NY, and are all Giant fans, I know quite a bit about him. He is a solid veteran presence who works his arse off, on and off the field. I think he has already helped out with recruiting, and its shown that players want to be in Oakland again. Rome wasn't built in a day gentleman, and neither will this new look, highly competent franchise. I know we are starved for a competitive team, we now have the cap room to do it. Al Davis wasn't a patient man, I can remember him saying more than once "The Raiders don't rebuild, they reload" That is simply just not true. For years we were saddled with terrible contracts, players that were incredible athletes, but not great football players. Those days are gone. We are fully rebuilding, and it is going to take a bit of time. I think Reggie is the man for the job.
Some parting thoughts :
Jack Tatum and Kenny Stabler should absolutely be in the HOF, its a travesty that they aren't. Especially Tatum. BTW, one of my most prized possessions is an authentic signed Jack Tatum jersey, my wonderful wife surprised me with on my birthday during my second stint in Asscrackistan.
Sadly, the Snow job, also referred to as the "tuck rule" game, was on my 21st birthday, how terrible is that?
I look forward to interacting on this blog, it's a great community, thanks for reading!
