Just saw the Giants are signing Freeman and it made me wonder what's going on with Ryan Nassib? Doubt anyone remembers nor cares, but Nassib was my favorite QB last year in the draft. By far. I'm still shocked he fell to the fourth round, much less that he was the 5th QB taken.
Last year in a meaningless game many of the Giant faithful were calling for Nassib to get the start to see what he could do yet Eli played anyways. Even in the preseason he got little to no burn. I'm guessing Coughlin isn't a fan. Why, I obviously can't tell you. What I can tell you is the Raiders desperately need a future franchise QB and I truly believe Nassib should be it. While we did pass on him ourselves and settled for Tyler Wilson *shudder* I like to think Reggie is the kind of guy who learns from his mistakes.
So trade for Nassib.
Trading a draft pick for Nassib would be eye roll inducing since we've already traded 2 picks in this draft for QB's but at the same time if the team is looking at drafting on in the later rounds what's the difference? I would trade Denarius for him, though. The Giants need depth at receiver and at worst Moore would be number 3 on their depth chart, regardless of who they draft.
I'm not going to sit here and write about everything I like about him, just know this: He'd be perfect in our system. I repeat, perfect. Greg Cosell said he was the best QB by far in the draft - high praise. Just watch this tape from the game against Mizzou who had (they seem to always have) a great defense. My absolute favorite part is what he does on the final drive, with a minute and a half remaining. Magical.
