In this mock draft, I changed my normal strategy of trading down at the top of the draft, electing instead to nail some blue-chip prospects in Mack and Fuller, who surprisingly dropped to the 2nd round. In the latter rounds, I moved my 4th round pick down to #18, picked up Pitt's R4, R5 & R6, then I moved Pitt's R6 for Cincinatti's R6 & 7.
I think we stand to benefit more than most teams than a surplus of lower round picks, having the veteran leadership we gained in free agency, and the depth issues that have plagued the team in recent seasons.
Round 1 Pick 5: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo
Round 2 Pick 4: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
Round 3 Pick 3: Kareem Martin, DE, North Carolina
Round 4 Pick 18 (PITT): Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State
Round 5 Pick 17 (PITT): Michael Schofield, OT, Michigan
Round 6 Pick 23 (CINN): Ross Cockrell, CB, Duke
Round 7 Pick 4: Ethan Westbrooks, DE, West Texas A&M
Round 7 Pick 20: Garrett Gilbert, QB, Southern Methodist
Round 7 Pick 24 (CINN): Zach Fulton, OG, Tennessee
I wanted to stack the lines, and pick up decent pieces. CB is a position I feel is a real lottery at the next level, and the three I selected all posess ability, Ross Cockerell in particular showed the ability to lock down Mike Evans fairly succesfully.
Appreciate the critiques as always
