Russell, McFadden, Heyward-Bey, McClain, Hayden.... What do they all have in common?
All 1st round picks with disappointing careers thus far.
Let's face in, regardless of who we take in the 1st round, unless they single handedly take us to the Super Bowl next year, we're all going to be back on this blog talking about how we should have drafted so & so instead (everyone is a genius in hindsight blah blah blah)
Just accept these two undeniable truths
1) The Raiders don't draft well in the 1st round
2) Our best players are drafted in the later rounds. (Only talking about players WE DRAFTED not other teams(Charles Woodson excluded because that wasn't in this decade with all due respect))
Tyvon Branch - 4th round
Sio Moore - 3rd Round
Mychal Rivera - 6th Round
Danarius Moore - 5th Round
My point is, our best bet in this years draft would be to trade down & acquire as many picks as possible. If we trade down just 1 or 2 picks to Atlanta or Buffalo who REALLY want Khalil Mack & we are still able to get a player like Aaron Donald plus 2 or 3 more players, who really won?
Deone Bucannon, Gabe Jackson, Will Sutton, Jalen Saunders, Morgan Breslin this draft is ridiculously loaded with later round talent & we need to collect as much of it as possible. We have plenty of players nearing the end of their careers & players who shouldn't even be in the NFL (I'm looking at you Brandain Ross) who knows when a draft will be this deep again.
