Three possible Raiders trade down scenarios

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

What's up, Raider Nation?

Been peepin this site for about 2 weeks now and I've just been lovin all the Raider love and debate over all the things that have transpired over the last month. Just wanted to get in on the convo and throw out some other stuff I've been thinking about.

There are 3 scenarios where our 1st round draft pick could be traded down to and why......

Scenario 1

Raiders trade: Pick #5 (Draft Value 1,700)

Bills trade: Pick #9, Pick #41 (Draft Value 1,840)

What would need to happen for this deal to take place?

Khalil Mack would have to not be drafted by the time the Raiders are on the clock. Atlanta is hot for Clowney and if they are unable to trade up and get him, they are gonna go for Mack. Its the position according to their fans on The Falcaholic are in the most need of in the draft. They overpay in value because they want the hometown kid that also addresses a position of need. Nothing like getting ahold of the local talent to energize a fanbase right? They also overpay because the Browns and Jags do not want to trade down to the 9. The Raiders however are, and would most likely gladly swoop up the extra second rounder.

Scenario 2

Raiders trade: Pick #5 (Draft value 1,700)

Falcons trade: Pick #6, Pick#37 (Draft Value 2,130)

What would need to happen for this deal to take place?

If the same scenario as above happened and Khalil Mack was still on the board at 5, and the Raiders have the Bills as leverage to make Atlanta overpay I could see this happening. Atlanta, a team who has already shown they are willing to overpay to get what they want in the draft, would not hesitate to pull that deal if it meant it was their only way of getting Mack, who I'm assuming is their guy. This would be best case scenario for the Raiders, also the least likely.

Scenario 3

Raiders Trade pick #5 (Draft Value 1,700)

Titans trade pick #11, pick #42 (Draft Value 1,740)

What would need to happen for this deal to take place?

I see as the most likely scenario. Assuming the titans are sold on one of the top 3 QB's (Bortles, Bridgewater, Manziel) and that QB, either of the 3, is still on the board and the other 2 QB's are gone at the 5. Tennessee would be afraid of Minnesota drafting their guy at 7 and would move up with the Raiders to take their guy. The teams with pick 6, 8, 9, and 10 don't have holes to fill at QB so the Vikings stand as the lone threat and Tennesee gives up a 2nd rounder to get their QB before Minnesota can draft him. Draft value is nearly identical.

Thought I'd share my thoughts with you guys and also ask....... What are any other scenarios you guys could see happening where the Raiders would trade down from the #5 pick on Draft Day?
