It appears that RM is not looking to trade any personnel or picks to move up into 5th or 6th, seeing that we have selected 5 starting caliber players at excellent value slots.
So in the 7th, with three picks I think Reggie goes all out on some wild-card picks and shocks the world - yeah, right!
Colt Lyerla, would be such a wild card pick - at a position in which we do not own a true 3 down TE. I watched him with fascination at U of O (go Ducks) as a freshman. Never before has I seen such athleticism from so many points on the field - and this team had DeAnthony Thomas.
Lyerla could line up at TE, FB and RB along with slot and even spread wide. Fast, big, strong and played like he wanted to dish out all the punishment! Very talented, but troubled. With the a last chance kind of accountability I believe we could not go wrong here. NO, he does not fit RM's new character first policy, but he needs a second chance, like McGill.
3 years ago - he would already have been a Raider as Al Davis (RIP) would have reached and grabbed him in the 2nd round despite his being kicked off his college team (don't be fooled).
This guy was born to be a Raider - he is a Raider at heart.
We can afford to get him in the seventh IMO - get r done Reg!
