Yes, I understand Carr was a great QB in college and has a lot of potential to be a great NFL QB but drafting a QB in the 2nd round seems like a wasted pick to me.
A QB in round 2 is a wasted pick because he can't won't contribute this year. Lets fill a hole with someone that will play this year.
We have a LOT of positional needs out there that need to be addressed in the draft but the players we draft in the first few rounds need to be able to play right away and contribute to the team THIS SEASON.
We just signed Schuab this off season so drafting a QB in round two would be a wasted pick because he isnt going to play unless Schuab gets hurt.
We don't need to be throwing Carr out there when Schuab has a bad game or two because it will kill any confidence Schuab has. Lets not play the QB game we did last year because we all knew what a mess that was and it didn't do any real good for any QB. If Schuab gets hurt, let's give McGloin some snaps and see what he can do.
If Schuab doesn't pan out and/or McGloin can't fill the role.................then we can go trade, sign or draft a QB (round 1) in 2015.
Drafting Carr will do nothing for us this year and it doesn't address anything this year.
