Reggie has been busy making the Raider's roster respectable this off season.
The initial wave of free agency and the draft were widely considered a moderate success. Some interesting undrafted free agents were brought in as well. (I'm excited about Fields, hoping he can make the roster / PS)
Now that all the draftees have been signed attention will shift back to rounding out the roster.
Ways the roster can be improved between now and the 1st /2nd regular season game:
- Sign more UDFAs
- Sign veterans who have yet to be signed
- Sign veterans who got cut with the June 1 designation
- Sign players who get cut the in the 1st wave of preseason cuts
- Sign players who get cut in the 2nd wave of preseason cuts
- Supplemental draft
With money left to spend, and a semi-respectable roster, Reggie finds himself in a position that he has not been in the last two years: as a player in the late off-season market. Players are more likely to sign if the team has some talent, and you need a good chunk of money to lure the bigger names that get cut. You never know who could become available, so Big Reg will have to take it as it comes.
I've listed the positions I feel are most likely to receive a possible significant upgrade, but of course feel free to chime in:
