In the aftermath of Matt McGloin’s rousing last minute heroics to secure a Raider victory for the team’s preseason home opener, sending the fans home in delirium, the question on the tips of most reporters’ tongues was, "Matt, WTF with the shrug?"

According to Vic Tafur of the SF Chronicle, when asked about what has now become known as "The Shrug", Matt McGloin denied it was a Jordan thing and flatly stated, "It’s a Matt McGloin thang!"

‘The Shrug’ that was heard across the Nation, from Oakland to Pennsylvania, is raising questions all over the sports world about the true meaning behind it, now that the Johnny Manziel vs Brian Hoyer question has been settled. Not one to settle for a glib response to a fascinating question, I decided to ask McGloin myself.

After sneaking through security, and drug sniffing dogs, I made my way over to a small crowd, which I correctly predicted was a Matt McGloin interview session. Sure enough, McGloin was surrounded by reporters when I arrived. He was already being bombarded with questions regarding ‘The Shrug’. I could tell by McGloin’s body language that he was getting tired and annoyed by the repeated badgering by the reporters and their insistence that he ‘come clean’ about the ‘shrug’. Here are some of his annoyed responses to some of the reporters:

To Vic Tafur of SF Chronicle: "It’s just a Matt McGloin thang!"

To Ian Rapoport of NFL.com: "It’s how we did it at Penn State, man!"

To Ines Sainz of CNN en Espanol; "Hey, how you doin’? Vivo cerca, guapa!"

Well, I couldn’t get close enough to ask him directly, so I am going to the next best source: Raider Nation. What did Matt McGloin’s shrug at the end of the Detroit game signify? Was it just a natural reaction to yet another random world beating play by McGloin, or is there more to it than that, something deeper and maybe more sinister?

Matt 'Scarface' McGloin: "Say 'Hello' to my leetle friend! Hijo de putas...rat a tat tat tat tat tat.!!!!!
