The Raiders are about to take the field. Well, some of them are. The team announced they will be sitting nearly all of their starters and a few more for their preseason finale against the Seahawks. That list is as follows:
Raiders
QB Matt Schaub
RB Maurice Jones-Drew
RB Darren McFadden
RB Marcel Reece
WR James Jones
WR Rod Streater
TE David Ausberry
CB Carlos Rogers
CB Tarell Brown
CB Chimdi Chekwa
FS Charles Woodson
DE Justin Tuck
DT Antonio Smith
LB Nick Roach
LB Sio Moore
LB Kaelin Burnett
K Sebastian Janikowski
KR Taiwan Jones
Seahawks
WR Percy Harvin
CB Jeremy Lane
CB Tharold Simon
RB Christine Michael
TE Cooper Helfet
LB Bruce Irvin
DT Jimmy Staten
DE Michael Bennett
WR Kevin Norwood
That leaves the Raiders with just a handful of starters not scratched for the game. Those players are Tyvon Branch, Pat Sims, Khalil Mack, and the entire offensive line inlcuding Donald Penn, Stefen Wisniewski, Austin Howard, Menelik Watson, and Khalif Barnes.
No telling how long the Seahawks starters are supposed to play but if they do, it won't be long.
Most of the players starting this game for the Raiders will play into the third quarter. This one is about what kind of depth the Raiders have and players fighting for a roster spot. Enjoy.
