The Raiders made eight roster cuts Tuesday, including tight end Nick Kasa, a 2013 sixth round pick by the team out of Colorado. Kasa was on injured reserved all of last season.
Also made official from previous reports were the cuts of linebacker Miles Burris, wide receiver James Jones, and offensive lineman Kevin Boothe.
The entire list is as follows:
Waived
LB Miles Burris - Injured
LB Bojay Filimoeatu
LB Justin Jackson
TE Nick Kasa - Failed Physical
DT Kona Schwenke
CB Jansen Watson
Termination vested veteran
WR James Jones
OL Kevin Boothe
Bojay Filimoeatu was signed as an undrafted free agent last year and was called up to the active roster last season after a stint on the practice squad. Jansen Watson was also in camp with the team last year. Jackson and Schwenke were both signed this offseason to reserve/future contracts.
Most all the players who were waived or cut saw the team draft a player at their same position last week. To see the entire Raiders draft results, click here.
The Raiders hold their rookie minicamp this weekend beginning on Friday.
