Exploring Nnamdi Asomugha Trade Possibilities

Could Nnamdi Asomugha's days in Oakland be over? [via a.espncdn.com]

Is Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on the trading block? I don't think so; however, based on his comments at the Pro Bowl, maybe his days in the silver and black colors are numbered. ESPN's Tim Graham had some interesting Pro Bowl tidbits and what not. A bit of a story had some quotes concerning Nnamdi Asomugha and Darrelle Revis, the NFL's two top cornerbacks in the league. New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan was even involved and it didn't include him giving the middle finger. Here are some quotes collected by Graham:

Oakland Raiders star Asomugha was smiling when he brought up the dream scenario, but insisted he was "dead serious" and has spoken to New York Jets coach Rex Ryan about it.

"Me and Revis have been talking to Rex to try to do something," Asomugha said. "You may see us in the future. There's a little bit of talk going on. Either he's coming to Oakland or something else will happen."

Said Revis: "Me and him have talked about it, but I can't really control that situation. I don't know if he can either.

On a team with so many needs, I have thought about the possibility of trading Asomugha. He's the best cornerback in the league. He's young, humble and willing to do anything to help the team win. With those traits and his obvious skills, he obviously has value.

With all of that said, what let's just see what we could possibly get for Nnamdi Asomugha.

This is the NFL's version of the final four. [via l.yimg.com]

They say that the divisional round of the playoffs is the most exciting weekend in sports, not just in the NFL itself. Certainly if your favorite team is involved, it more than likely is the most exciting weekend for you. In this year's divisional round, however, the blowouts made it tough to watch. In the first three games, the home team won by an average of 26 points. Still, let's take a look back at the weekend that was the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Poll
Which player on a winning team had the most impressive divisional round weekend?

NFL Playoffs: Wild-card Review

I didn't pick a single one of you guys to advance, but congratulations!
[via l.yimg.com]

The NFL playoffs are unlike any other system in professional playoff sports. In other sports, there are best-of series consisting of three, five or seven games. In the NFL, it's a true "win or go home" sort of a thing. There are no second chances. There are no home games and road games as it is just one or the other and you have to perform no matter what the situation.

Poll
Which player on a winning team had the most impressive wild-card weekend?
Shonn Greene (NYJ): 21 carries, 135 yards, 1 TD
13 votes
Felix Jones (DAL): 16 carries, 148 yards, 1 TD; 1 reception, 30 yards
41 votes
Ray Rice (BAL): 22 carries, 159 yards, 2 TD
71 votes
Kurt Warner (ARZ): 29-for-33, 379 yards, 5 TD

Hiring Mike Leach Only Makes Sense If...

Mike Leach went 84-43 in his 10 seasons as head coach at Texas Tech. [via media.nj.com]

Let's face it: Mike Leach is the most talked about coaching candidate on the market when it comes to our Oakland Raiders. I'm sure you've all heard about the allegations surrounding him and his extermination at the Texas Tech University, a program he turned around from "laughing stack status" to a Big 12 contender. I will not bore you with what went on concerning Adam James and his alleged mistreatment; however, I do believe Leach is innocent but that's something for another day. Another thing I'm sure about is that all of you have thought about hiring Mike Leach at or one spot or another within our, say, anemic coaching staff. I'm here to explore the possibilities.

Hit the jump to read on and then cast a vote on the poll.
