Oakland Raiders News 12-13-07: Four Starters To Miss Game For Indy

Today, the AP reported that WR Marvin Harrison, DT Raheem Brock, S Antoine Bethea and DE Robert Mathis will most likely all miss the game this weekend in Oakland.

This is good news for the young Raiders as they take aim at last year's Super Bowl Champs.

Maybe we can send some RT tickets to the Cayman Islands to Peyton and Joseph Adai.

Other than that, there is not much more to report, other than the fact that Fargas expects to play and that McCown is also expected to start.

That's right, we get another dose of Josh-Pa-Looza.

You've just gotta love the end of J-Mac's piece today:

" – An ESPN feature by Scouts Inc. ranks NFL quarterbacks 1 through 64 and leaves off Raiders starter Josh McCown altogether.

Instead, Daunte Culpepper is classified as the starter and ranked No. 32, and Russell the backup and ranked No. 36.

McCown's brother Luke, the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was ranked No 56.

– Kiffin threw a chair through his office window and challenged Al Davis to fight when he found out Norm Chow was interviewing for the UCLA job, according to a non-industry source who made up the story."

Gotta love the opportunity....
The Colts are really good and they know it.  The see the Raiders as as easy victory, no matter what they say through the media.  They have injuries and will come in unfocused as a result of their over confidence, at least I hope.

A few good breaks, turnovers, and some consistent comitment to the run against a smaller type defense, and the Raiders could pull this off.

A Heavy Dose Of Rhodes:
The Raiders need to use a heavy dose of Rhodes and call a few draws for the fullbacks in pass formations.

We have seen them add the tight end to the offense, now it is time to add the fullback.

After that, we go UP TOP JONES!!!

Another week of McCown
and his 1 TD a game offense.  Will this nightmare ever end? After the beating Denver took last night in Houston I am not so impressed with the Raiders win, when McCown can throw 3 TD passes against a team then our victory is somewhat tainted.  I do think Rhodes will get some major playing time this week, it has been Kiffin's strategy to play players who formerly were with the other team.   Can the Raiders stop Addai, that is the question.  We know Manning will shred the defense, but can we stop the run, that is the major concern.

I just don't care......
about anything other than the health and success of J Money when he comes in the game.  If we win, we win; If we lose, we lose.  Just keep the kid healthy and let him continue his development.

That will be the part of the game
when I will get really interested.  I don't worry about him getting hurt, he is bigger than most lineman and all the linebackers.  I have a gut feeling we will see JaMarcus a lot in this game. I expect him to play the entire 2nd quarter and if he does anything positive, start the 3rd quarter.  Like you I don't give a damn whether they win or lose, just have a good game, positive improvement.  I will be watching Huff and Eugene.  Huff has a major challenge with Indy's tight end.  No question that Indy will run Addai, can the Raiders stop in in any meaningful way?  I'm really looking forward to the game after the 1st quarter watching McCown stumble around, overthrow passes and generally do nothing positive.  I expect to see Rhodes a lot.
