Oakland Raiders News: It's Silver and Black-Fadden Or Bust!!!!

Heck, I may even change the name of this blog to Silver and Black-Fadden Pride!!!

I have resisted the temptation for long enough, BUT, I am back on the Mcfadden Train (Where I was when this whole Draft Craziness started).

Watch him break this run amidst the highlights. It made me scream. Also look at Marcus Monk, my 6th round pick.

Rhodes and Fabian will be packaged or traded individually and McFadden will be a RAIDER...Book IT!!!

I think McFadden...
will be selected by Oakland because those videos That I just saw proves that we should get him

It's official
McFadden will be the Raiders choice if he's there and he most likely will be. DE is covered, the early need for DT is covered/can be finished in draft, WR is going to most likely get one more player in draft. The only real need I still see is LT but that's another draft pick. This is looking to be an amazing season.

16-0 in 08!!
For once the DL does look promising but how is DE covered??? who can look in my eyes and tell me that Kalimba Edwards and AKGB are the answer. Yes Edward's killed us but there's a reason he didn't make the cut in Detroit, he and AKGB are depth not starters but they would have to do.

Mcfadden is too good to pass up remember were building a team not a defensive dream team

Domnic Rhodes restructured
his contract. So it doesn't look like Rhodes will be traded. Story here. So with Bush, Rhodes, and Fargas, we just don't need Mcfadden. To pay him a first round pick pay, and I personally don't think he's worth it. The highlights I've seen show that he stops when hit.

I'm not so sure Mike:
I think that his restructured contract makes him more tradeable.

Beware of college stars
I pay no attention to what a guy did in college, it is a different league in the NFL, everyone is bigger, and faster.  McFadden would cost Al a ton of  money with absolutely no guarantee he will be a star.  For all the highlights we see, there were an awful lot of games where he did nothing.

Its a guarantee Mcfadden will be a star
"I pay no attention to what a guy did in college"
HUH??
then how are you suppose to evaluate talent judge purely on the combine where Mcfadden burned it up
as well

"there were an awful lot of games where he did nothing."
If anything this is Vernon Gholston's biggest flaw how he tends to dissapear in some games not Mcfadden

Our Running Game IS Strong Enough
Perhaps I'm wrong ( as I have been before) but I don't see how this football team improves with McFadden vs gaining depth on the D-line and LB positions. This area still greatly concerns me regardless of the FA and trade pickups we've had this off-season. A lot of the recent acquisitions have baggage or injury issues that can't be ignored. It's hard to create a functional core with so many question marks. At least, with a top pick devoted to the D-Line or LB positions, injury may be less of an issue with those players.

Some of the 16-0 comments are funny. If we think we are going to beat New England when they roll into town by having McFadden run crazy, we are kidding ourselves in a cruel way. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS! Just ask our new safety...Mr. Gibril (Nemiah) Wilson.

Come on Al! Don't do it, don't be tempted like in years past this RB. Build our foundation with the defense, you'll do Monte Kiffin proud!

The only way I would like to see McFadden, is
the scenario that NFL.com has, where the Jets trade up to get Gholston at 4, and the Raiders get Mcfadden, and an extra pick at #6.
Team Pick Analysis

4. New York Jets (Projected trade with Oakland)
Vernon Gholston
DE, Ohio State The Jets have to figure the Patriots will try to move up for Gholston, so they have to do the same. They could also stay put at No. 6 and hope Darren McFadden falls or take the best corner on the board

Team Pick Analysis

6. Oakland Raiders (Projected trade with New York Jets)
Darren McFadden
RB, Arkansas Oakland could have stayed at No. 4 and taken McFadden, but they need to slow down the spending, and an extra pick later on can help in other areas of need, like offensive tackle.

One problem
There's one problem with that. The pats pick at #5, and they could easily snag McFadden, then we would be out of options. I really hope we don't do this.

KC Picks 5:
Although I wouldn't put it past the Pats to move up and grab McFadden.

He will offset many a pass rush because you will always have to have a spy on him.

We'll See
I am really against us drafting Mcfadden. When I see other need. But if we do draft him I can easily see how he helps our offense. Not this year but in the long run. To have a an offensive young core off J.R. Z. Miller Bush and Mcfadden. It gets the team together for a long amount of time so that they can grow together up to their full potential.

Our Defense most would agree is already stacked. Not stopping the run is still a huge issue. But I can see the added help of getting a "rare talent". I don't see Mcfadden as being our PROBLEM SOLVER of all problems. So when people mention him stopping when hit. Don't forget Michael Bush who is more of a power back anyways. The tandom of 2 of them together should give us a solid run game for years to come.

I think another one of the factors in us getting this talent is after that one HORRIBLE offense where we couldn't score for our lives. Al never wants to see a team that bad again so is doing everything he can to shore us up.

Whoever we get I will be overjoyed with. I am focusing more now on where we trade fabian and which hb's the first to go.

Jake Long
I believe he is our best bet. The offensive line needs the most help on our team. Yes Mcfadden sounds so good on the team, but imagine how much money he will want. He might repeat what Jamarcus did last year, but who knows, we might sign him on draft day to a 100 million dollar deal. We are set at the running back position. Justin Fargas has a lot of heart and can hold the load by himself. Rhodes, who I just read, reconstructed his contract, will  also carry the load. Michael Bush has the potential of becoming the suprise story of 2008.  Mcfadden's presense will take away from Bush, I beleive.
However, Jake Long can only help. He can make our o-line more aggressive because he is a very aggressive guy. He loves contact. We only have two good linemen, in my opinion. They are Gallery and Kwame harris. The others are questionable. Jake Lnog WILL fill a huge gab and help out a WHOLE lot. I also think he will not bug Al Davis aobut money too much. He is my fav pick rite now.

zone blocking
long is not a good fit for a zone blocking scheme. the most important charachtaristic for a zone blocking tackle is agility. he got beat by vernon gholsten on a double move when he gave up one of his two sacks last season who is a speed rusher off the edge. there will be a LOT more of that in the NFL.

cable has worked wonders with the guys we have now. he asked al for harris and al got him harris. the only guy in the draft who would fit in this blocking scheme is chris williams who is not good enough to draft with a number 4 pick. true, we don't have any big names on the line but these guys will get the job done.

watch the game film on the projected top five picks and the only three that i think make an immediate impact are DMC, Dorsey and Gholsten.

Good Point
I didn't think about this. Yea Long doesn't really fit well with a zone blocking scheme. Darren Mcfadden seems like the best choice for the raiders.
