The St. Louis Rams Are On The Clock

If contract talks with the dolphins end in them picking up Jake Long(and/or Vernon Gholston). The Raiders pick would hinge on which way the Rams go with the Falcons being a consensus to take Matt Ryan. Which player do they take?

Star-divide

- IF JAKE LONGS PICKED AT 1

With the only offensive lineman worthy of a top 5 pick off the board in Jake Long. This would indicate the Rams going to their next draft need in a Defensive End. Vernon Gholston was an absolute beast in workouts that may be to good to pass up with his potential to be a hybrid LB/DE that can wreck havok in the backfield. Glenn Dorsey was the leading pick until injury concerns dropped him slightly on a few peoples boards but with how dominate he was in college going against double and even tripple teams. He is a proven commodity but will they take a risk? Chris Long has a work ethic just like his father Howie and coming off the end he would shore up a once GREAT pass rushing team. Who do They take?

-What this means to the Raiders.
This means a combination of Chris Long, Glen Dorsey, or Vernon Gholston will be a available for us at 4. Any of these 3 picks would be a welcomed guest to a defensive line that gave up a league leading 24 rushing touchdowns on 149.5 allowed rushing yards per game.

IF VERNON GHOLSTON PICKED AT 1

Is Jake Long  worth passing up on in order to take one of the previously mentioned D-line men. I don't personally think they could pass on with Orlando Pace coming off injury and getting older. And Alex Barron possibly not in future of the rams pending contract negotiations. Adding Jake to the roster will help Stephen Jacksons #'s and they can plug him in at guard right away and rotate him over to tackle later.

-What this means to the Raiders.
Jake Long while great isn't quick enough in some peoples views to fit into our zone blocking scheme. After drafting CAN'T MISS Robert Gallery years prior will Al go offensive line again to protect his young Quarterback? The option will be there for Al Davis leaning towards Chris Long EASILY as a pick if he is here at 4. Other popular choices are Vernon Gholston, Darren Mcfadden, and Glen Dorsey.

Of the proposed way the draft unfolds who do you have the RAMS taking at 2? If one of the first 2 players in negotiations with the Dolphins are taken.
