As the "Countdown To The Flip" continues this week I am getting excited about the potential receivers that COULD be available with the 34th or 36th pick.
Between the running back and receiver positions, I cannot recall a draft where there were so many quality players that will slip to the 3rd or fourth round, and some, even further.
Any team that does not draft a wide receiver or running back in the top 4 rounds will miss out on a VERY deep and talent rich draft at those positions.
I can see each of these players helping an NFL team THIS year.
Darren McFadden - 1st
Jonathan Stewart - 1st Round
Steve Slaton - 2nd -4th round
Jamaal Charles - 1st - 2nd
Rashard Mendenhall - 1st
Felix Jones - 1st
Chris Johnson - 2nd
Matt Forte 2nd - 3rd
Mike Hart 2nd - 3rd
Tashard Choice 2nd - 4th
Justin Forsett 3rd - 5th
Kevin Smith - 2nd - 3rd
Yvenson Bernard 5th - 7th
Wide Receivers (15 Names to watch slide down the board due to depth)
If Jamaal Charles, James Hardy, Early Doucett, Adarius Bowman, Devin Thomas, Andre Caldwell, Gosder Cherilus and Kentwan Balmer are all available to us in the second round, then I am even MORE excited about 2008 than before.
Having any of the Big 3 on D with the first pick and then adding a HIGH quality wideout, O-Lineman, Running Back or another D-Line Beast would instantly improve the team. Period.
With such a young team, there is very little decline in their players. Keep in mind that they are still getting better as they grow older and will add some VERY talented players at KEY positions which the Raiders are WEAK at(D-Line, Wide Out).
Ellis, Hardy and Silva would really improve this team.
Not to mention adding Dexter Jackson or Marcus Monk AND Thomas Williams.
Williams forces fumbles, Dexter is as quick as lightning, Marcus is a HUGE target with great hands, Silva is a BALL hawk, Hardy is the complete package at wide-receiver and Ellis is a load to contain up the middle.
