Game Thread: Denver at Oakland: 09-27-09: Day of Reckoning For JaMarcus Russell

This is the biggest game for the Raider nation since we lost the Super Bowl, 7 seasons ago.

The team defense is playing at a level that we haven't seen since Woodson, Romo, Parella, Woodson and Eric Allen wore the silver and black.

Some of you may point to 2006, when we had the top "Rated" pass defense, to that I say, "TUT!", this defense is for real and is getting better every game.

Seymour, Ellis, Kelly and Warren have been collapsing the oppositions line and have made the QB's throw to their first ro second option or run the risk of being leveled. Their backups, Bryant, Shaugnessy and Scott have been just what the doctor ordered to put even more pressure on the opposition and give our biggest dawgs some time to catch their breath. Breathing time was especially important last week as they were on the field for 40 minutes and often only got 2-3 minutes to rest.

That responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of the offense and in particular their leader, JaMarcus Russell. JaMarcus HAS GOT TO BE MUCH BETTER THAN HE WAS LAST WEEK! If he isn't, then today can be a huge letdown for those of us who will be losing our voices and repping our silver and black at the Coliseum.

I have faith in JaMarcus, I know who he is and I am hoping that tomorrow is the day that he puts it all together this season. It would help to have Chaz back, but, even without him, J-Russ has got to find a way to get the ball into the hands of his play-makers and NOT miss wide open receivers.

I know that you can do it JaMarcus!!!
