KFFL Has Reported That The Oakland Raiders have signed Un-drafted Rookie Free Agent Trent Guy from the University of Louisville.
Before I looked up his stats and photos I thought that perhaps it was Ray Guy's son. Then when I saw him, I don't really see a likeness. ;)
Guy worked out and met with the Patriots, Panthers and Raiders.
Stats: (From CBS)
PRO DAY RESULTS: The two other solid prospects among the 16 (14 from Louiville, two from area schools) that worked out indoors on FieldTurf for 12 team representatives are as follows: WR Trent Guy (5-8 1/4, 171) ran 4.53 and 4.58 in the 40, had a 35-inch vertical, a 10-3 broad, a 4.07 short shuttle, a 6.90 three-cone drill and did 12 bench press reps. He also did a position workout. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
On a side note, he was shot in the back by someone who touched his fiancee inappropriately. He is a return specialist as well. maybe he will add depth as a return guy.
He averaged over 20 yards a return on punt returns last year with a TD and over 25 yards on Kick-off returns in limited action.
He only caught 43 passes in his four year career, but he took 5 of them to pay dirt. He also carried the ball out of the backfield with some success.
Solid back-up and may make the practice squad or even fill in if there is an injury for Ford.
Last year the Oakland Raiders were in dire straights without a competent return replacement for Johnnie Lee Higgins or Tim Dwight once they were injured and it looks like they do NOT want to repeat that this year.
