Open Letter To Nnamdi Asomugha:

Mr. Asomugha,

I know that this was the first year in your career that you didn't play for a losing team and you are well within your rights to leave Oakland, but, please don't. You mean more to this city than just football. You are hope for all of our struggling children whom you've taken under your wing. In short, you are Oakland.

I know that you have adopted this city from your early days at Cal and please believe me, we appreciate it.

You deserve a long term contract and I am sure that Mr. Davis will reward you for being a loyal Raider, so please stay. I literally have tears in my eyes as I write this. I didn't know that I could care so much for a football player, but I think that these tears represent the children in the city of Oakland and the loss that we would all feel if you were to depart.

There is more to this decision than any of us can fathom and I know that you have to do what is best for you. Please keep us all in mind as you go through this process. Oakland is much bigger than just the Raiders and WE need you here.

Much Love,

Raymond
