Pirate Booty: More Nnamdi to the Texans Connections, Possible Suitors for Zach Miller and More

We have got to end this lockout! There is so little in the way of Raider news today. We should be talking about how new players are going to fit in with the team, and wondering if any undrafted free agents will make the roster. Instead, we are left to ponder the void.

I am sick of the void. But what can you do. We still have  a couple of stories for you to sink your pirate hooks into. Jump over....

How many games do the SWARCO Raiders play? For crying out loud. These guys must have a good laugh about the sissy NFLers bitching about a possible 18 games schedule. The Raiders have won three Super Bowls in their history. And that is good enough to make them one of the greatest franchises in the game.

These guys are going for their third championship in months.

SWARCO Raiders Aiming for More
The SWARCO Raiders has won the Eurobowl and the Austrian Bowl this season. Now 13 players from the Austrian sister team of The Oakland Raiders want to win another title: at the American Football World Championships in Austria.

Joe Theisman thinks Jason Campbell is poised to have a good year. This may be the worst news I've heard all offseason.

All about the Oakland Raiders : Raiders Silver and Black Blog
Former Redskins quarterback and NFL analysst Joe Theismann has seen a lot of Campbell and is close friends with Saunders, and we talked on the phone last week. "The offensive line he had in Washington was just horrible, so you can't put too much into those numbers he had with Al in Washington," Theismann said. "It's all set up for Jason this year -- they have a great running game, Hue is back and Al is there so Jason will be working with a system he knows."

Raiders Roster Ramblings

It is widely assumed that Zach Miller is returning. but let's not forget that he will be on the radar for every single team that needs an upgrade at tight end.

NFL.com news: Jets, Patriots in search of missing piece to championship run
Upgrade at tight end: Coach Chan Gailey is a heck of a play-caller and offensive mind. Still, he would be more effective with a better tight end. David Martin and Shawn Nelson are adequate, but a guy like the Oakland Raiders' Zach Miller would do wonders in Buffalo. The New York Giants' Kevin Boss would also be an upgrade.

Matt Schaub wants Nnamdi on the Texans. Of course he does! He is tired of having Nnam taking away his favorite receiver year after year.

Schaub Onboard With Asomugha Joining Texans | Football News Now
Quarterback Matt Schaub is the latest Texan to get onboard the Asomugha lobbying train. "I totally think it would be a great fit for him," Schaub said this week on SiriusXM NFL Radio (via PFT). "A lot of us on the team know him fairly well. We played Oakland it seems like every year, at least since I’ve been in the organization for the last four years so we know him well. Him and Andre [Johnson] have a good relationship so I definitely see it as a great fit for him."

A healthy Anotonio Gates is a giant pain in the ass.

The end of last season was tough, but this lockout has kind of been helpful for me, because it's allowed me more time to rehab and get treatment," Gates said. "So I'm feeling really good now.

It's official. Vrabel is done with football...as a player.
