Oakland Raiders' Offensive Line is Bulldozing Path for McFadden's Glory

The Raiders offensive line is absolutely dominating in the run game, and Darren McFadden is reaping the rewards. These rewards are coming on and off the field. On the field, McFadden is the league's leading rusher. Off the field, McFadden is being considered one of the league's best running backs.

Run DMC deserves this acclaim. There is nothing he can't do on the football field. But the way this line is blocking right now, any NFL caliber running back the Raiders put back there would be excelling.

Check out this stat found on ESPN:

"Oakland running back Darren McFadden is blowing by defenders. Just 91 of his 392 yards, which leads the NFL, have come after contact. He is averaging amazing 5.0 yards a carry before being touched. That’s amazing and, of course, it leads the league."

Obviously, McFadden deserves credit for some of this. He has to see the holes, and then make cuts that makes defenders miss him. But the line has to open up those holes in the first place. They have to give him the space to make defenders miss.

If the offensive line keeps performing like this, the Raiders are going to be an offensive juggernaut all season long.
