Well, I guess that Jerry McDonald was entirely incorrect when he wrote that any Oakland Raider cuts could easily be signed to the practice squad because nobody else wanted them.
In one of the quickest scoops in the League, the Carolina Panthers, have signed Stevie Brown: (From Brown's Twitter)
scbr3 Stevie Brown
goodbye Oakland...HELLO CAROLINA!!!
A source close to the situation let me know that Stevie would land on his feet very quickly and also that he was upset with the long term deal that was given to Michael Huff. Apparently, Huff planned on returning to Dallas and Brown was led to believe that he would be the starting FS for the Raiders.
When the team stepped up and paid big money to Huff, it upset Brown who's play from last year dropped off a cliff in training camp and the pre-season. Now he has a chance to go somewhere that he can compete for the starting safety position.
I wish him well in Carolina. Next Man Up!
