Raiders gain two, lose three injured players in practice Wednesday

New, comments

The Raiders have been hoping they can start getting healthy in the coming weeks of this season. Several players have been injured or on the PUP and injured reserve lists. But while two returned to practice today, three others went out.

The good news as practice began was seeing tight end Richard Gordon and running back Taiwan Jones take the field. Gordon has missed three games with a hamstring injury and returned to practice for the first time in a month. Jones hurt his knee in the Raiders loss in Atlanta and did not play in last week's home win over the Jaguars.

But soon the good news of their return was soured when three different players left practice with injuries- Defensive end Matt Shaughnessy, wide receiver Juron Criner, and safety Mike Mitchell.

The three players were listed as limited participation on the Raiders Wednesday injury report. Shaughnessy has a shoulder injury, Criner has a hip injury, and Mitchell has an ankle injury. Coach Dennis Allen said he is not sure of the severity of any of the injuries. We should know more tomorrow.

Also listed as having limited participation were Desmond Bryant (elbow), Keenan Clayton (shoulder), Sebastian Janikowski (left groin), Richard Seymour (knee), Rod Streater (knee), and Dave Tollefson (shoulder).
