Welcome to Gameday: Raiders at Chiefs

New, comments

It's week 8 of the 2012 NFL season and today and the Raiders (2-4) are in Kansas City to face their third division rival of the season-- the Chiefs (1-5).

Jamie Squire

Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City MO

When: 1:05pm Pacific time (3:05pm Central time)

Things to know:

-The Chiefs own the all-time record between the two teams. The Raiders are 48-53-2 dating back to the two teams' conception in 1960.

-The Raiders won the last meeting between the two teams in a hard fought 16-13 overtime game in week 16 of last season. They split the season series.

-They have beaten the Chiefs the last five times they have visited Kansas City. They're 6-4 overall in that span.

-This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season and therefore the first time the Raiders have faced their former starting cornerback, Stanford Routt, of whom the team spend a round two pick in the 2005 draft. He signed with the Chiefs as a free agent this offseason. Raiders former tight end Kevin Boss also joined the Chiefs as a free agent this offseason.
