The tragic shooting in a Connecticut Kindergarten classroom today is being felt across the world right now. The incident had the son of a Kindergarten school teacher opened fire on a classroom of children, killing 27. Among those killed were 18 young children.

This incident affects us all and many of us have small children of our own. For some, like Branch, it literally hits close to home.

"Yeah, definitely." Said Branch. "Anytime, I don't care where it is, anytime you hear about something as tragic as kids being killed in school, all you can do is pray and hope everything, you know, hope the Lord works everything out."

The shooting occurred in Newtown Connecticut which is just over an hour Southwest of the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs Connecticut. It is between Storrs where Branch went to college and where he grew up in New York State.

Most the Raiders players were stunned about the news as they heard it coming off the field from practice. The feeling was that of shock, disbelief, sadness, and anger at the news. It is a microcosm of the sentiment shared across the country and around the world at this tragic event.
