Raiders announce two front office changes

New, comments

The Raiders have announced they have added Zak Gilbert as director of media relations, and named Mike Taylor director of public affairs.

Gilbert held the position of chief assistant in public relations with the Green Bay Packers for seven years from 2001-07 where he was put in charge of the often difficult task of handing publicity for Brett Favre. He held the position under Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie who was the Packers Director of Player Personnel during that time.

For the past four years he has served as the director of athletic media relations at Colorado State University. He has another connection with the Raiders as he worked with Tim Skipper who is the brother of Raiders running backs coach, Kelly Skipper and former Raiders quarterbacks coach Jim McElwain.

Prior to his work with the Packers and at CSU, he worked for the Colorado Rockies from 1998-2001, including three seasons as Assistant Public Relations Director and was on the staff with the Denver Broncos from 1997-98.

Gilbert will begin his duties at the league meetings this week.

Mike Taylor, who has been with the Raiders organization since 1988, welcomes Gilbert to the Raiders organization.
