ESPN.com is running the voting system for the new Madden 2013 cover. This year there are two players from each and every NFL team eligible to be voted onto the cover. And for the Raiders, it is their Pro Bowl duo of kicker Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler.
There is no question they are the two best players on this Raider team. Certainly Lechler is the best in the business at punter and Janikowski is among the best as well. Although the thought of Seabass being a coverboy while simultaneously attending anger management classes is something straight out of Hollywood.
The Raiders also had Richard Seymour in the Pro Bowl. Why not him?
Last season it was Darren McFadden who was in the running for the infamous game cover. If he had made the cover, they would have blamed his season ending Lisfranc injury on the dreaded "Madden curse". But instead, it is simply the dreaded "DMac injury plague" that did him in.
Instead, it was McFadden's college backfield mate Peyton Hillis who made the cover. And he had a lot more "issues" than his injury last season.
I suppose it could be worse though. The Raiders other Pro Bowl player was long snapper Jon Condo. Just picture that Madden cover.
