Two former NFL players, Michael Bennett and William Joseph have been arrested as part of a tax fraud ring. There were a total of eight individuals charged and unfortunately, both players once suited up in Silver and Black.
Here are the details of the caseas laid out in the Yahoo Sports report:
Federal prosecutors said Tuesday the FBI operated an undercover check-cashing store in North Miami used by the suspects from February through April. The group allegedly cashed about $500,000 in fraudulent refund checks... They face forgery and theft charges.
Michael Bennett played ten seasons at running back in the NFL; his final season in 2010 with the Raiders. He was in Raiders camp in 2011 but didn't make the regular season roster.
William Joseph played defensive tackle for six seasons in the NFL. He spent the last two as a reserve defensive tackle with the Raiders in 2008-09.
Both Bennett and Joseph were former first round picks by the Vikings and Giants Respectively.
