Aaron Curry, Mike Mitchell to appear at Raider Image Friday

Oakland Raiders linebacker Aaron Curry and strong safety Mike Mitchell will host a Summer Food & Fund drive this Friday, June 29 to support the Alameda County Food Bank's hunger relief efforts.

Curry and Mitchell will be at the Raider Image store, located at 8450 Edgewater Drive in Oakland this Friday from 4 - 6 p.m. to meet and sign autographs for fans who make a minimum donation of $20 or 20 non-perishable food items. All proceeds go directly to the Alameda County Community Food Bank's hunger relief efforts.

The Alameda County Community Food Bank serves 1 in 6 residents in Alameda County, nearly half of which are children. The Food Bank expects record demand this summer when families cannot rely on free or reduced-priced school meals to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches for their children. In total, the Food Bank serves 49,000 people each week - more than two-thirds the capacity of the O.co Coliseum during a Raiders home game.

Aaron Curry has become well-known for his community outreach and charitable contributions. Curry's support of the Food Bank is part of the team's ongoing commitment to giving back to the local community.

The Raiders organization have supported the Alameda County Community Food Bank through various initiatives, including volunteer events, in-stadium fundraisers and food drives, and through Taste of the NFL, which raises awareness of dollars for hunger relief organizations nationwide.

Since 1985, the Alameda County Community Food Bank has been at the forefront of hunger-relief efforts in the Bay Area. This year the Food Bank will distribute 22 million pounds of food, more than half farm-fresh produce. The Food Bank serves 1 in 6 Alameda County residents by distributing food through a network of 275 food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community organizations.
