The Raiders have announced they have re-signed restricted free agent defensive lineman Desmond Bryant Wednesday. Details of the contract have not yet been released.
The 6-5, 290 pound Bryant was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard three seasons ago. He immediately impressed the team enough to make the opening day roster and has been a part of the team ever since.
He has primarily been a defensive tackle for the Raiders over the past three seasons. However, when the team lost Matt Shaughnessy last season, Bryant stepped in as the starter at defensive end. He got his first start at defensive end last season and ended up starting the final ten games. He set career highs of five sacks and 35 tackles (30 solo) along the way.
He was practicing with the team in OTA's as the team had place a restricted free agent tender on him following last season.
