Oakland Raiders add offensive lineman

New, comments

The Raiders have signed free agent offensive lineman Nick Howell, the team announced Thursday. The 6-5, 290 pound lineman most recently played as a member of the offensive line for the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League.

Howell entered the NFL with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent out of USC in 2010. He then spent time on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad during the 2010 season and was released by the 49ers during training camp in 2011. He was signed to a reserve/future contract by the New Orleans Saints in January 2012 and was released in May.

While at USC the versatile Howell, worked at every offensive line position. He was seen as an offensive guard coming out of college but played offensive tackle while with the Mountain Lions.

The Raiders also announced they have released fullback TréShawn Robinson, who was signed as an undrafted free agent after a tryout with the team in rookie mini camps. His release coincides with the return of fullback Marcel Reece to practice after Reece signed his exclusive rights free agent tender.
