Mark Davis remembers Ben Davidson

New, comments

As reported earlier today, Oakland Raiders great Ben Davidson passed away of prostate cancer at the age of 72. Raiders owner Mark Davis, who is in Las Vegas for a memorial gathering in honor of his late father, Al Davis, has fond memories of Davidson. He spoke to CSN Bay Area's Paul Gutierrez about it.

"We'll miss him. I've known him since I was about 8 or 9 years old. He was larger than life. A huge man with that big handlebar mustache...him and (Tom) Keating taking off on their motorcycles. He was a larger-than-life figure and a wonderful human being. We were expecting him to be at this reunion here and then we got the call last night. Like I said, he will be missed."

Davidson will always be one of the original Raiders greats. He was part of the "11 angry men" defense" of the 60's before the great Raider Super Bowl winning teams in the 70's and 80's.
