The Oakland Raiders have made four roster moves prior to their Week 2 game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. They have placed cornerback Ron Bartell (broken shoulder blade), and wide receiver Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc foot injury) on injured reserve. Bartell is on the NFL's new reserve/injured list that allows him to return later this year. Ford will not be eligible to return until next season.

In corresponding moves, the team promoted both cornerback Coye Francies and long-snapper Nick Guess from the team's practice squad.

Francies takes Bartell's spot on the roster and Guess would take the long snapping duties from Jon Condo-- who suffered a concussion in last week's loss to the Chargers-- if he is unable to go.

Francies (fran-SEES), claimed by the Raiders off waivers prior to the final preseason game and waived on Sept. 6, was added to the practice squad on Wednesday. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Francies played in eight games with the Cleveland Browns from 2009-10 and spent training camp with the Seattle Seahawks this season.

Guess was also signed to the Raiders' practice squad on Wednesday. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound rookie was in training camp with the San Diego Chargers after signing this offseason as a non-drafted free agent out of Tennessee.
