Things didn't get started off well for the Raiders. The Dolphins drove for a touchdown on their first drive of the day. On that drive, the Raiders looked completely incompetent. That run defense that has been so good, couldn't stop anything. And Pat Lee was getting eaten up in the secondary.
But things began to settle down after that. The first drive is scripted and Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins executed that script perfectly. But once they had to go off script, they could no longer move the ball.
The Raiders were able get things moving bit through the air and responded with a 64 yard catch and run by Mike Goodson. But they still haven't been able to get anything going on the ground. That was somewhat to be expected with the Dolphins' strong run defense and weak secondary. They were able to drive into scoring position and were in first and goal again but couldn't punch it in. They headed into halftime with a 10-7 lead after a short field goal.
