Reports are surfacing that say in one move what Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie has been about since day one-- his guys. He has been steady signing his guys from the Packers cuts and practice squad and wide receiver Tory Gurley is the latest. Raiders 2011 third round pick Joseph Barksdale is not one of his guys and he is out.

Gurley becomes the fifth former Packer to be signed by the Raiders. The others were Pat Lee, Brandon Underwood, Brandian Ross, and Vic So'olo. The only one of this bunch who is no longer on the team is Underwood who was waived/injured.

He comes over from the Vikings practice squad after having been signed by the Packers as 2011 undrafted free agent out of South Carolina. He will fill help fill the void left by the injured Darrius Heyward-Bey.

Barksdale on the other hand, becomes the third member of the 2011 draft class to be cut this year. The team waived fourth round pick Chimdi Chekwa in the final round of roster cuts and he has since been placed on the practice squad. Although, the team has sign several corners since then and continue to bypass the idea of activating Chekwa. Demarcus Van Dyke was also cut and was promptly signed by the Steelers.

Barksdale was expected to compete for the right tackle position for the Raiders. But he struggled in all phases of the game as well as not being a good fit for the zone blocking scheme. He has been inactive for all three games this season.
