The word has come down that the Raiders late game on Sunday versus the Chargers has met the minimum requirement to air on local television. This is the third straight game this season to meet the 85% minimum blackout requirements, the two previous games sold out.
The game will air nationally on NFL Network and locally on KRON 4. It was moved from an afternoon game to 8:35pm Pacific time last week due to the A's playing in a home playoff game the night before. This allows the stadium crew enough time to change things over from baseball to football.
The stadium seats about 58,000 this season with Mount Davis and portions of the upper deck tarped off, eliminating around 5,000 seats. The 85% rule means they need only sell around 50,000 seats by the Thursday at noon deadline to avoid a local TV blackout. Since the new rule was instituted last season, the Raiders have yet to be blacked out.
