In time for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, the Raiders have signed OL Jack Cornell to the active roster from the team's practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team waived offensive guard Antoine McClain.
Cornell had been on the Raiders' practice squad for the past three weeks. The Raiders have been losing players to injury of late. Lucas Nix is questionable and center Stefen Wisniewski is doubtful which means Andre Gurode will move from left guard to center.
Cornell was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois this last off-season. He spent all of last season on the Ravens' practice squad and entered camp with them as well before being waived in the roster cutdowns before this season.
McClain had been claimed off waivers from the Ravens prior to the start of the season. So, essentially the Raiders replace one Baltimore cast-off guard with another.
