Stanford Cardinal vs Cal Bears college football open thread

It is Saturday and that means college football time! The Oakland Raiders of course are not playing, but there is a game between two California teams that could be of some interest. That game is the Stanford Cardinal against the California Golden Bears.

With so many great college teams on the West Coast there is a great disparaging between who Raiders fans vote for. Both of these teams have a large fan base that are filled with Silver and Black fans so it is a game where it could be fun to chat with your fellow fans right here.

Stanford is the heaviest of favorites in this game and for good reason. They are the number 9 ranked team in the entire Nation and the Bears are a shockingly bad 1-10 on the season. Chances are that trend will continue for both teams but this game is a rivalry that always means something anyway.

Though the Bears are rightfully being written off after their dismal season there always are some weird and whacky things that happen in sports. This is the biggest game of the season for California, they won't be bowl eligible this year, and they will come out with all their might in this one. It probably won't be nearly enough but you can bet that this game means everything to them.

As for Stanford, they are still very much in the hunt for a BCS Bowl Game so they can not afford a let down. They have a great team with a strong conservative style offense that will be looking to ground and pound their way through their weaker opponent.

The game kicks off at 1PM Pacific Time and it will be aired on FOX. If you are watching the game anyway you might as well be chatting here with your fellow Raiders fans!
