The Oakland Raiders have announced they have signed three new players to the team's practice squad. One of those players is defensive end Sam Montgomery whose agent had said signed with the Raiders last Tuesday night. The other two are safety Kyle McCarthy, and cornerback Johnny Adams.
A spot on the practice squad opened up when the team signed Ricky Lumpkin to the active roster prior to last week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Another spot opened up this week when the Tennessee Titans signed Tyler Wilson away from the Raiders' practice squad.
Montgomery was a third round pick in 2013 by the Houston Texans but was cut on October 21 for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
McCarthy is now on his third AFC West squad after having appeared in 12 games for the Broncos and Chiefs the past three seasons. He was originally an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame.
Adams is an undrafted free agent rookie who originally signed with the Buffalo Bills and appeared in four games this season.
