2013 NFL expected cuts, cap casualties: Offense

New, comments

We have already seen a few cap casualties this off-season, but there are still many more expected. Here are those players.

Jim McIsaac

Saying a player will be a "cap casualty" can be a loose term. It is really more of simply ROI (Return On Investment) than anything. If a team likes a player enough, they will pay what it takes to keep him. Other times they will restructure to keep them. So, calling them a cap casualty is a way of letting them down easy.

That being said, here are a few of the more notable players who are expected to be "let down easy" or allowed to seek employment elsewhere.

Quarterback

Kevin Kolb, Cardinals

Matt Cassel, Chiefs

Matt Hasselbeck, Titans

Running Back

Michael Turner, Falcons

Ahmad Bradshaw, Giants (released)

DeAngelo Williams, Panthers

Wide receiver

Darrius Heyward-Bey, Raiders

Jacoby Jones, Ravens

Tight end

Kellen Davis, Bears

Marcedes Lewis, Jaguars

Jermichael Finley, Packers

Offensive line

C Jonathan Goodwin, 49ers

LT Doug Free, Cowboys

OG Stephen Peterman, Lions (released)

C Dominic Raiola, Lions

LT Jordan Gross, Panthers

RT Jammal Brown, Redskins

OL Willie Colon, Steelers
