Talk about a lot of moves in a short amount of time! Levi Damien, our chief writer and Raiders guru here at Silver and Black Pride, has been a machine pumping out stories left and right about the plenitude of moves the Raiders are making.
Its been exhausting for Levi to keep up with writing about it all so one can only imagine how exhausting it must be for Reggie McKenzie to actually be orchestrating everything behind the scenes. Now we get to see if those moves have changed the way Raiders fans that visit this great site feel about the next season.
Out with the old and in with the new seems to have been the general theory around Oakland these days. The "out of whack" contracts that the Raiders were burdened with have now officially been chopped. After this year full of dead money from the mass exodus the Raiders will truly be able to move on to a New Era of Excellence, and maybe they could surprise some people this year on their way to that new era too.
Out with former faces of the franchise such as; Carson Palmer, Michael Huff, Rolando McClain, Tommy Kelly, Richard Seymour, Shane Lechler and Darrius Heyward-Bey.
In with the new faces for the Raiders; Matt Flynn, Tracy Porter, Michael Jenkins, Kevin Burnett, Nick Roach, Usama Young, and Kaluka Maiava.
The work isn't done yet as the Raiders have the upcoming draft and possibly still a couple of cheaper free agents that they could bring in. There will be another poll after the draft when the most important pieces of the future will be added but now is a good time to see how the Raider Nation is feeling about their beloved franchise.
So do you think the Raiders are in a better position now for the 2013 season or do you think they have regressed? The last poll results are here with an overwhelming sense that the Raiders will at least be slightly better. The first poll had been positive but not as positive due to a lack of options to choose.
Really though they couldn't get that much worse so that is a pretty obvious result. We will see if people still feel the same way or if stances have changed much. It should be interesting to see the progress and at the end of the off-season I will show all the results together in one article.
